The following are the current members of the Residents Association Committee, who are available to engage and discuss current focus areas: Ger Hackett, Eilis Coogan, Tommy Byrne, Dave Murphy, Sean Coyne, Philip Crowe.  Everyone is the neighbourhood is invited & encouraged to join the committee to help with the focus and bring more ideas to the table on just how we can improve the neighbourhood.  The Residents Association email is: knockaverryresidents@gmail.com

 

We are setting up a “gofundme" page for the association in an effort to initially raise the funds needed to get some of work in focus commenced.  Applications have been made to the local authorities for funding, however these funds or grants are only made on completion of works, therefore there are costs involved to get these focus areas completed.  Also all money raised will be put back into the Knockaverry neighbourhood with details of all spending  available to everyone within the neighbourhood.  

 

Some of the initial focus areas currently in discussion with local authorities or within the committee include:

 

- works on the steps at the entrance which are in need of remedial work

- enhancement of the entrance with new signage, suitable bushes & plants

- installation of a number of new benches in the green areas for all to enjoy

- improvement of the signage including yield, stop & reduce speed

- maintenance of the green areas and hedging 

 

We intend to keep everyone informed on all and any developments and of course on occasion, if there’s a call to action for help to get something completed, we will put a request out.

 

As mentioned, one of the areas that we are very keen to establish is a Neighbourhood Watch program offering all residents more security, by having contact details of volunteers who will respond in the event of any security risk or concern.

 

Through the community & associated contact numbers, residents can raise concerns to or request help, again focusing on promoting a sense of community spirit and support.
